Notebook New Words and Meanings During my reading of the CET-6 vocabulary notebook, I encountered numerous words that were either unfamiliar or had meanings I needed to reinforce. For example, "ambiguous", which means not clear or having more than one possible interpretation. This word is often used in contexts where the meaning of a statement, situation, or expression is uncertain. Another word is "elaborate", which can be used as an adjective to describe something detailed and complex, or as a verb meaning to add more details or develop something further. Understanding these new words enriches my vocabulary and enables me to better comprehend various texts. Word Families and Derivatives I noticed that many words in the notebook belong to certain word families. For instance, the root "port" gives rise to words like "import" (bring in), "export" (send out), "transport" (carry from one place to another), and "porter" (a person who carries luggage). Recognizing these word families helps me to remember related words more easily and also understand the relationships between different words. By learning the prefixes and suffixes, such as "un-" (as in "unhappy" meaning not happy) and "-able" (as in "readable" meaning able to be read), I can decipher the meanings of many unfamiliar words and expand my vocabulary exponentially.
