A skilled writer will try to find, in the rich vocabulary the language
has to offer, a strong, precise word that by itself will convey the
meaning of both the intensifier and the weak word. Thus, instead of
"extremely important," he or she might
say"essential," "imperative," "vital,"
"indispensable," or "crucial" ; instead of
"they absolutely wanted to," the translator might choose
"they were determined to," "had resolved to,"
"were bent on," or "insisted upon."
