    There are only two purposeful reactions in the place of the reaction of dreaming: to sleep dreamlessly, or to wake when affected by disturbing stimuli. I think there are only two purposeful responses instead of the dreaming reaction: to sleep without dreams, or to wake up when disturbed by disturbing stimuli.
