thus is Robinson's reflection upon the powers, the reason, the affections, the sentiments of kindness and the obligation, the passions and resentments of wrongs, the sense of gratitude, sincerity, fidelity, and all the capacities of doing good and receiving good given equally by God to the so-called "savages" and the so-called civilized people. Some people, although more civilized than others, have no reason to consider themselves higher or advanced than the latter, for they have the same or even better qualities as the former.
