Goodbye, Jack
用户440984
Jack was a brave man who had fought two duels, and caught a big centipede to save a woman. Nevertheless, such a honourable person was still afraid of death. When he found that Lucy, a beautiful woman, who had got along well with him was a leprosy, he freaked out completely and rushed to see doctor. It is a sarcastic novel, but I don’t think the author meant to criticize Jack for he was just a normal person. As far as I’m concerned, he wanted to show that human beings were faint facing with death. Lucy, such a gorgeous lady had been banished to an island until she died; Jack, such a respectable hero was in horrible agony facing with disease. Just as the author said, “ we are in the midst of death---but to be in the midst of living death, to die and not be dead.” Therefore, we need to live for today, and admit that we are faint sometimes. Goodbye Jack, goodbye hero.
