Reading journal 3

When  Pip  is  in  his  twenties,  the  great  expectations  come.  He  is  given  a  large  sum  of  money  by  a  mysterious  donor,  who  wants  him  to  be  taken  to  London  to  be  a  gentleman.  Pip  is  excited  about  it  and  thins  that  this  donor  must  be  Miss  Havisham.     Pip  comes  to  London  soon,  where  he  gets  more  and  more  extravagant.  Although  he  now  lives  like  a  gentleman,  I  find  there  is  also  darkness  in  London.  I  find  that  these  gentlemen  dressed  in  expensive  clothes  but  their  behaviour  can  not  be  called  noble.  After  a  short  time,  Estella  comes  back.  Pip  travels  to  Chateau  Manor  and  shows  Miss  Havisham  how  grateful  he  is.  In  his  mind,  it's  Havisham  who  gives  him  a  new  life  and  makes  Estella  for  him.  But  this  is  not  the  truth  at  all,  Havisham  just  wants  Estella  to  be  proud  and  cold  to  harm  other  men  because  Havisham  is  deeply  harmed  by  a  man.
