Memorable Trip Around the world in 80 days is a novel written by Jules Gabriel Verne in 1872. This book describes a dramatic trip: Phileas Fogg and his servant Passpartout try to travel around the world in 80 days. During which they met countless difficultys , and they overcome all of them relied on their courage ,calm brain ,and the most important one: “never give up”spirit and a hot、noble soul. It is a little difficult to me to read this book totally in English ,so I have to read the Chinese at the same time. On the other hand, I have learned so much new words, which I think is very usefull for me. through this reading experience, I know what the true “English”is ,though Verne is a France in fact. I have became a fans of Verne when I was a child, so I have read this book long time ago , I can tell you I have dreamed travelling the world like Mr Fogg, make friends with elephant and so on. Today when I read it again, I got many things that I missed before. When I was young, I don’t know what money mean seriously, so I don’t know what the writer want to tell readers clearly. Now I understand ,this story says the life,the honor ,your relative and friends is more important than money. Mr fogg can sacrifice his valuable time to save Aouda’s life; and when he came back ,his made a mistake so that he think he was lost. But when Mr Fogg got Aouda’s love , he couldn’t be more happy, just like the caption of the last chapter: in which it is shown that Phileas Fogg gained nothing by his tour around the world, unless the happiness. Actually, travel is the eternal theme of human. Recently I am reading a great anime, which is the best production in the whole history, called JOJO’s Adventure , in which ,the protagonist——JOJO need go to Egypt from Japan in 50 days to save his mother . In this anime , when one of the protagonist named Broluna said they couldn’t complete it , JOJO cited Around the world in 80 days to encourage his friends. There are many similar factors between two story , like deadline and impossible mission , and they want to deliver the same spirit: never give up. But Verne’s book has a happy ending, however, in JOJO’s Adventure , many people sacrificed to complete the mission. In fact, Around the world in 80 days isn’t the first English book. I have read Hemingway’s short story , and I have bought 2001: A Space Odyssey on double 11. In my opinion, there is some huge different between East and West in the literature, but I can’t say it ! I suppose this is because the culture is contained in the word ,I can’t understand the deep beauty just because I don’t know the word very well. All in all, Around the world in 80 days is a great book which is full of imagination and the kindness to the world , has gave me a wonderful reading experience.
