I think the great gatsby is a story of disillusionment,and a man can't get over his first love.But in the long run of life, most people will fail in the face of reality.After all, "ask and not" is very bitter, the way to seek can not see hope is more bitter. I prefer to see it as a simple, beautiful and cruel love story.It tells the story of a spoony man, in order to find the old love, and make all kinds of doomed to no result of the efforts, the end is almost meaningless to pay their own life. He wanted to keep moving forward, but like a boat against the current, he was doomed to keep falling back into the past.Even though he knew that all his efforts could not get back a result, it still did not prevent gatsby from pushing forward. This is what makes gatsby great.This is the meaning of life --To the other side, as you like.Can not reach the other shore, I live, love.
