The protagonist of the novel is a dog, Buck.At that time,the Alaska gold rush was popular in the United States.Buck was sold from a warm valley in southern California to a cold,remote and gold-rich Alaska in the north,becoming a sleigh dog. After that,he went through countless battles and endure a lot of pain.To survive ,Buck became more ferocious, witty and cunning.Later,John Thornton saved Buck and gave him a lot of warmth. After John Thornton was killed ,Buck returned to the forest under the of wild. The author describes the world in the eyes of a dog in a humanoid way,depicting the essence of the world vividly.The is so vivid that t seems that Buck's picture of fightings with other dogs is in dront of us. In fact,the story is not just dogs.The battles between dogs actually refers to the bettles between people.The story fully reflects the greed and cruelty of human beings.The author describes Buck's story as a compliment to those who have the courage to resist,pursue freedomand yearn for happiness.
