Jack kersdale, a famous preacher on the island of Hawaii, was born into a wealthy family and was widely respectedJack himself was brave enough to snatch a large centipede from a lady's head with his bare hands.He was a great believer in sending lepers to Molokai, thinking it better than a metropolitan hospital or slum.Once he invited me to come with him to watch the lepers board the ship, and met Lucy mokunui, the beautiful Hawaiian woman, who was getting ready to board the ship.Lucy says goodbye to jack, but jack runs to the doctor to see whether he is sick or not.The novel's unexpected ending makes for interesting reading.
