Here I find some quite interesting similarities between Buck and me, and kept thinking about them during reading in spite of myself. The way we brought up are gentle and agreeable in the same manner ;we are both full of dignity but was sent to a new place where pride and breeding seem to be useless and thus feel hard to adapt to it; even the migrating direction is the same :from south to north. I cannot tell whether I will surrendered or not, but clearly Buck gave his answer :"He was beaten, but he was not broken.…… The facts of life took on a fiercer aspect; and while he faced that aspect uncowed, he faced it with all the latent cunning of his nature aroused.", which I find inspiring and comforting .
