It doesn’t like other fictions, the leading character of this book is a dog named Buck. At very start, Buck live in its owner’s house, who works as a judge. Buck is an excellent dog with strong body and distinctive temperament. There are many other dogs live with Buck, while Buck is the kind of the dogs. Buck think it is more noble than other dogs. However, one day, Buck was sold to a dogs dealer by an assistant of a gardener for money. Buck revolts all people it see and want to come back home but in vain. At first people beat it rudely to make it tame. Eventually, Buck realize that it must obey the people to avoid rude treat. When it arrives in Alaska to drag goods or gold. He feel the cruelty and ruthlessness of wild which is far away from the society of human. The stronger bully the weaker. Buck sees the battle of life and death. Generally, Buck learns to just do thing that can make it survive and ignore the principle of conduct itself in the world. Finally Buck become fierce and tough, witty but crafty. After savior of Buck is killed by other people, Buck regain the wolf nature and enter into mountain forest, as the response of the call of what it hear all over the period. In the end, Buck become the king of a group of wolves.

In this book, writer uses personification to describe Buck. It makes us understand the mind of Buck more clearly. The figure of Buck shows a feature of naturalism. The regulation of natural creature. Only having cruel fight，Buck can survive and gain what it wants. The book seem to be a animal novel. But in fact, author uses this book and the leading character to reflect reality. Alaska’s cruel but charming environment make people live in city have sense of awe.

The Call of the Wild use dog to metaphor socialization of people, use wolf to metaphor wild nature of people. At first, Buck live in a judge’s house, it represents home and spirit harbor. When Buck goes to Alaska, it represents that people enter into cruel reality. Human has value like socialization, people use good or bad to judge a people who is good or evil. However, in the world of wolf and dog, the stronger is honor, the fittest survive. Buck used to be a weak dog in people’s shelter, it grows up and becomes the king of dogs. It metaphor people can also fit the different environment quickly and grow. Though we live in human society, when one day we leave our home and go far away from our parent, we must face cruel reality. In many situations the regulation of wild nature is applied in our life too. We must do our best to fit the difference in different period of our life.

From the view of realism, The Call of The Wild criticize people who is hypocrisy and cruel to people around them. It use the angel of a dog to show author’s lash of bourgeoisie and human society.
