The author's choice of symbolism and imagery in this fairy tale is
well-intentioned. One is the nightingale who can sing, and the other is
the rose of love. Not to mention the tragic and tragic beauty of the
story, we are fascinated by the images alone. Look at the nightingale
for watering the rose, will thorn deep into his heart, rose
Thanksgiving, out of such as blood gorgeous flowers. The beauty
presented by these two images is heartbreaking. Although we cannot
personally experience their pain, we are resolutely moved by them. This
is a tragedy of love. For the nightingale, the love which exchanges with
her life is trampled. For the young student, the love which he pays
sincerity still can not impress the girl. Oscar Wilde once said: there
are two tragedies in life: the one what you want but can not get and the
one what you get but do not want. This seems a contradictory sentence
but reveals Oscar Wilde’s infinite pursuit to beauty. These are some of
my more superficial views of the work. However, every time I read this
book, I always have a feeling of being re-baptized. I like the image of
"Nightingale", she is kind and compassionate, although the
final ideal of love is shattered, but she still sings this beautiful
love hymn. She is like a meteor across the sky, fleeting, but left a
series of traces, to prove their own personal existence; She is like a
gorgeous fireworks, in the last moment of burning life, also do not
forget to strive brilliant.
