Look up the moon
Emmmmmmm
The protagonist of "Moon and Six Pence" is Strickland. He
originally worked on the stock exchange. In the eyes of the people
around him, he was an uninteresting, dull, boring, dispensable
person. However, suddenly one day he left the house without warning, gave
up all his wealth, and went to Paris, just to paint. Although no one
bought his paintings, and despite his poverty, he still persisted. Later
Strickland left Paris to reach Marseille and finally to Tahiti. On
Tahiti, Strickland and Atta got married and made a mural painting with
all their energy, but when leprosy was hanging, he told Atta to burn it.
Maybe many people will not understand his irrational and irrational
behavior. Art originates from life. In fact, there are people in this
life who abandon the ordinary, the comfort, the glory and wealth for the
dream. This kind of people may be regarded as aliens, but in fact, if
there are no such people in life, everyone is satisfied with enjoying a
comfortable life, and they are comfortable with the boring living
environment, living in a pool of dead water, without a trace of waves. I
can't think how terrible it is. I think the author wrote this book to
commend Strickland's courage, encourage everyone to pursue what they
have in mind, and pursue a more valuable life and don't be ordinary to
all beings. "Chasing dreams is chasing your own misfortune. On a
street full of sixpence, he raised his head to see the moonlight."
This sentence in the book made me feel deeply. The warriors who chose
the moon were small in the crowd. Perhaps they will not be understood by
their family and friends, be ridiculed by others, and be considered to
be independent, and go against the mainstream of society. Despite this,
some people give up everything to find their own moon, which requires
great courage. After reading this book, I vowed secretly that I want to
be the one who is not caught by the reality and bravely pursues the
moon, even if it is regarded as a maverick monster. But to really do the
desperate behavior like Strickland requires great courage behind it. In
the face of various external worries, obstacles and difficulties, many
people have to choose to give in to reality. I also seem to understand
the sentence "General people are not the kind of people they want
to do, but the kind of people they have to be." Maybe we can't
abandon everything and chase our dreams desperately like Strickland, at
least not to give up the little light in our hearts in a mediocre life,
and don't forget our dreams while working hard. Remember to look up at
the moon on the road full of sixpence.
