My point
The power of words is sometimes great, and sometimes it is too weak to describe one quadrillion parts of the mind at all.
The confrontation between Shylock and Antonio is not just a dispute of personal interests. I think it is also a confrontation between one belief and another belief, and between one nation and another nation. They don't want Jews to exist.
But what happened to the Jews? They just become Jews. Why should they be treated this way? Should people who are not born into this race really burn high incense? Shylock. A Jew at the bottom of society who suffers from ethnic oppression, doesn't he want to be kind? Doesn't he want to be tolerant? Doesn't he want to be a gentleman who has been praised? But how can he compete with those at the top of the upper echelons, who dress to the nines at the very least? Yes, he is vicious, he is evil, but that is because of the circumstances in which he lives. If he is in a good position, he can also be Antonio.
