The feminist views in Frau Brechmenmaker Attend a Wedding

The story illustrates a very detailed moment in the Brechenmatcher’s life from Frau’s (the wife) view which is very interesting and shortens the distance between the story writer and the readers. And the third point-of-view guides us to read the story in an objective view, which inspires us to figure out Frau’s changing emotions and strange behaviours. 

The whole story can be divided to three part: before the wedding, in the wedding, and after the wedding. And it focuses on conveying the thoughts and feelings about marriage of women in marriage . We can observe that piles of housework and tiring life after marriage have deprived her of her innocent and passion. She seems to be unable to handle those crazy ideas and behaviors and cares more about her dignity, especially when her husband makes some funny speech. 

Also, I find it extremely sarcastic that those women blame the bride who marries with her baby, instead of the man who abandoned her. Frau is one of them, but I believe it is her innermost desire that she wants to transfer the unequal relationship between her husband and her. However, all she does is following the trend and unconsciously condemning another pity woman.

Besides, it is very interesting that no one tells Frau about her back opening dress besides the woman who knows her. Denoting Frau's distraction to life, it may indicate that only women can save themselves at the same time.

I believe the story writer tries to inspire readers to attach attention to women's status and emotions in marriages. It is a story ingeniously telling the significant topic- women's rights from a ordinary incident in life.
