Great expectations
赵雪易
My book of Great Expectations is not the original, but a simplified
version of the Bookworm series. But it also describes most of the
original work. After reading this book, I think it is really a good
book. There are many reasons hidden here, and the content has changed.
The Great Expectations is called greatexpectations in English. It was
written by the British writer, Charles Dickens. The protagonist is named
Pip, and the story begins with Pip meeting a fugitive in a churchyard in
a small village. The fugitive Abel Magweather had just escaped from a
prison boat.He is so hungry that he forces Pip to bring him food.Very
scared, Pip gives the fugitive food.No one had thought that the fugitive
had changed Pip's life. Pip falls in love with a high-class girl and
begins to lose his peace. He was ashamed to be his sister's husband, his
best friend, a blacksmith, and the rest of the village.Pip was delighted
when he knew that he was given a large sum of money to get his higher
education. He felt that he was finally worthy of the young lady.He left
the village and left his friends. He forgot the fugitive as a child and
went to London to study. Later, when he found out that the large sum of
money for his education was the hard work after the escape again, he
trembled with disgust, and he regretted leaving his original good friend
and going with the fugitive. Then a series of things happened.I don't
want to go into more detail here. People always want to compare with
their friends around them, if they are rich, we certainly want to have
money, on the contrary, if they are poor, then we do not care about the
same poor, this is probably human nature. We are not ashamed of our
stupidity, we are only ashamed of being more stupid than our friends
around us.It was because he had been ashamed of communicating with the
upper ladies that he hated the friends he had been with before. If we
don't want to have it, we won't be frustrated by losing it.Since we do
not expect to be rich, we will not be disappointed by poverty. Those
who know content are the happiest. There is no end to the pursuit of
material things, so we need to have a clear mind to recognize what we
need and what we do not need to need.
