A Lonely Hero
This book is written about the story of Robinson's sailing and adventure. Due to the storm, most partners on board lost their lives. Only Robinson drifted to a deserted island, and later Robinson found a water source, which can prevent wild animals where they set up a tent on the island. He encountered many difficulties and even diseases, but he has overcome them. He lived on the island for twenty-eight years, and always have the risk of being attacked by wild beasts with no friends, inadequate food, and little hope of life.
However, Robinson has created a great miracle. Robinson gave me a lesson about setbacks and failures that one shall never despair. In people's life, there will be a lot of setbacks. Facing setbacks, you only have two choices: one to move forward, and the other one to give up, Robinson chose the former.
Robinson Crusoe is a real hero. He almost has everything needed for becoming a successful man, such as his excellent creativity, great working capacity, courage, and persistence in overcoming obstacles. However, Robinson Crusoe is not a perfect man. He also has shortcomings. He was such a coward when he encountered a storm the first time. He swore and repented yet ate his words and sailed on after the storm. By showing Robinson’s shortcomings, Daniel Defoe made Robinson a real person. After all, no one is perfect. Robinson Crusoe can not only lead the ambitious ones to success, but also guide average people to face up to life.
After he suffered from a shipwreck drifted to the island, not to lament the fate of injustice,
but make full use of their minds and hands, to build houses, plant crops, animal breeding, and tool making, and in despair helpless with his tenacity and perseverance and hunger, disease, fight, rescued finally victory. At first, Robinson carrying his parents followed a boat out to sea, but died on a ship, he spent a long time in the vast sea, the sea into no human habitation of the island, there are no people on this island. He built a “house” with some items side only, and later in the wrecked ship found some bread, wine, clothes, bullets, and so on…… Thus began his twenty-eight years two months nine days of island drifting.
For a long time, he not only overcame loneliness and solitude but also against hunger and disease. He was always optimistic and cherished every opportunity. Faced with difficulties, he was afraid, but always conquered himself and stuck to the hope of life. After reading this novel, I was deeply touched by Robinson's tenacity and courage.
