Great Expectations
吃橘子的修猫
One month before I joined Shanghai Mobile, I had the honor to read the
novel Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. When I first came into
contact with this novel, I was simply attracted by the title. After all,
for a newcomer who is about to enter the workplace, the future career
planning is somewhat expected and confused. However, after I savored the
novel carefully, I was gradually deeply attracted by its content. After
reading the whole novel, it also inspired some of my feelings and
expectations for future career planning. The whole novel is mainly
divided into three parts: The first part tells the story of Pip's
childhood as an apprentice blacksmith. I met a fugitive during a visit
to my mother and saved the fugitive under threat. Then Pip was invited
to play in the rich and strange Miss Havisham's home. In many times of
getting along, he developed some love for the beautiful but indifferent
Estella. One day, Pip received a grant from an anonymous person-to
receive an upper-class education in London. The second part of the story
describes that Pip did not become the upper-class person he expected
after receiving the "upper-class" education in London. On the
contrary, because of living a luxurious and degenerate life, the truth,
goodness and beauty that I once had gradually disappeared. Subsequently,
the sudden appearance of his anonymous "benefactor" made him
change his real life. In the last part of the novel, it is described
that Pip, after protecting the exiled "benefactor" who fled
back to China, gradually found the truth, goodness and beauty that had
been lost, and at the same time realized the importance of family and
friendship. The main story line of this book also expounds a simple and
profound philosophical truth. Different environments will have different
effects on people, which will subtly create everyone's changing
personality and behavior. Pip, the hero, from the simple blacksmith
apprentice to the extravagant and degenerate "superior social
man", is caused by the change of the surrounding environment, and
the change of his identity is a microcosm of his personality. At the
same time, Pip's indifference and aversion to Joe from the worship and
love before to the back is also caused by his changing living
environment. It can be seen that people's hearts are easily influenced
by the secular world and change. From novels to reality, it is not
difficult to find that in this society with material development as the
center, it is a precious thing not to go with the flow and keep a true heart.
