Nothing could harm his beauty, nothing could hurt or change it -- not love, not even time. So he cut off his face from his heart, his appearance from his inner world. His face had not changed, always young and beautiful, but this portrait -- painted with the brush of love -- told the true story. It was the real Dorian Gray -- growing older and uglier and resentful. Firstly, I want to talk about these main characters.Basil Hollwood is a conscientious and wholehearted artist but also he has gained true value and integrity in mind, unlike Dorian Gray and Lord Henry. On the contrary, Lord Henry is a totally different one. Or we can say, he is a dangerous man. He is good at using rhetoric and blandishments to cheat and deceive Dorian Gray, such an innocent and good-looking young man. For that Dorian Gray hadn't formed a stable and correct values, he was effected easily by Lord Henry. Lord Henry was not only a cheater to cheat Dorian into a bad man but also a promoter that made Dorian totally lost in the fantasy but not living in consciousness. And Dorian Gray changed so fast. He was not only influenced by Lord Henry but also he was drawn by his desire.He was so greedy that he was blinded by the fantasy of being young and beautiful forever, even both the change of love and time cannot change him. Then, the plot of the novel is quite fantastic. The plot is ups and downs that bring readers betterexperience during reading.The story developed outside my expectation and made me have a deep thinking of humanity and also the characters. Finally, thanks for Oscar Wilde, who had brought us some many kinds of literature works. They promoted my thinking and deepen my understanding of humanity.
