《远大前程》
白玛初吉
The story of "Great Expectations" actually tells the story of
the protagonist Pip, who was born in poverty and unexpectedly obtained a
mysterious property when he was young, thus leaving home to start his
"Great Expectations". Afterwards, the "Great
Expectations" were completely shattered. In fact, Pip's "great
future" simply means that he, who had grown up to be only a
blacksmith, could have the opportunity to become a scholar or a
"gentleman" in London. And such a lofty the "future"
of the novel is shattered by the cold reality at the end. Therefore,
naming this work after "great prospects" by the author is
actually a satire on the society at that time.
