book review
林茹茹
One of the philosophical thoughts in Great Expectations is that
different environments will create different personalities. Pip wanted
to be a "gentleman" because of the change of the surrounding
environment, and then his indifference and even disgust to Joe were also
caused by the surrounding environment. From this point, the novel tells
people that people's hearts are easily influenced by the secular, so
having a noble and pure heart is more valuable than having wealth and status.
