War is nothing but pain

    This is a short story written by Hemingway.It is a sad story which happened to a boy and a girl at the wartime.They were in love with each other,but the war separated them for a long time.Afther the armistice,they had a reunion.Though they were delight to see each other,they quarreled because they could hardly have a bright future,so they were separated again,with no reunion.Finally,the woman decided to be married with a major of a battalion.She wrote to the man that theirs had been only a boy and girl affair,but the man didn't reply.At the end,the major did not marry the woman,and the man contracted gonorrhea from a sales girl.

    Hemingway is good at writting the story which like this type.It is obvious that he hates war,so that his words reflect that the war is the "evil".He tried to make people understand that the war is equal to the death and the ruin by writting.I like his works.In my opinion,if  we have read his works carefully,we would realize that war is such a bloody and foolish "toy",and then we would find out that most of these "evil" came into being just for some naive and absurd reasons.

     As it come to this sad story about war,I feel so sad when I finish reading.In my opinion,war is nothing but pain,it is a horrible word.War ruined  everything just like what it have done in this story.It burned buildings,broke up families,killed people and frozened the heart.However,if you review the history,you will find that we are always warring,against another nation,another country,even another city.It is seem that we love war too much to ban it.Did we treat war as the only way to solve conflicts?Have we been addicted to murdering and destroying?If so,we must pay much attention to our nature and try to get rid of the cruel part.

     We are the only creature that is born to thinking in this planet.Because of our intelligence and curiosity,we are powerful enough to chage our world,but it is easy for us to destroy it at the same time.The end of our story depends to the way we use our power.What do you think about the Atomic bombs and the nuclear plants?Though they are based on the same theory,we are hardly believe that they are same.So what is the difference between them?I think that the way we use them make them different.It is obvious that the Atomic bombs is a weapon,and we are inspired by it’s power,which is powerful enough to make us blieve that it can destroy everything,including our planet.However,the Atomic bombs have become the biggest threat in our life.It is too dangerous to use it.It is a example shows that we are trapped by our intelligence because we have payed too much attention to make weapon.Nothing is more valuable than life because we only live once.So there is a simple idea:Although the Atomic bombs is powerful,the nuclear plants is more helpful to our life.
