A Betrayer of Love

This is a very short story, a story about a betrayer of love. “He” was a soldier who got injured sent to hospital and she was a nurse worked there. Soon they fell in love. He was brave and held on to himself under the anesthetic in order to not blab about anything during the silly. Luz the she looked after him and they had many happy nights together until he went back to the front. They promised each other about their marriage. He got a bunch of 15 letters written by Luz in which she expressed her extreme love to him.

   However after the war their relationship began to collapse because of her hesitation of going back to America or not. They argued and broke up later. He went back to America and she stayed in Italy. There she was loved by a major so she wrote to him and said one day he will understand her which meant they completely broke up. But at last she wasn`t married to the major and he contracted gonorrhea.

   This is a said story, I have to say. As far as I`m concerned about Hemingway, this story expressed his prejudice towards women. A playboy woman destroyed a hero from war, what a story to make up sympathize the man and curse Luz!
