Wang Xizhi
Wang Xizhi was born in the famous family of Langya Wang in the Wei and Jin dynasties. He was the second son of Wang Kuang. His hometown was Nanrenli, the capital town of Linyi County in Langya. According to the more commonly accepted view, Wang Xizhi was born in the second year of Taian (303) in the Hui Di of the Jin Dynasty. He lived in Kaiyang County during his childhood. At the time of Wang Xizhi's birth, during the "Eight Kings Rebellion", the Western Jin Dynasty was in peril, and his father Wang Kuang advised Sima Rui, king of Langya, to move south.
When Wang Xizhi was five years old, the famous families, including the Wang family of Langya, were selected to cross the river with Sima Rui, which was known as the "dress to cross the south". When the Wangs of Langya first came to Jianye, they concentrated in Wuyi Lane.
There are no records of Wang Xizhi's youth. In the third year of Yongjia (309), Wang Kuang led the army to rescue Huguan, but his whereabouts were unknown after the army was defeated. This year Wang Xizhi was seven years old, in the days of the establishment of industry, "mother and brother Ju education, and gradually became a few." He loved to learn calligraphy since childhood. He was initiated by his father Wang Kuang and uncle Wang 廙. And learned from my aunt, Mrs. Wei.
