Einstein was born in Ulm, Germany,to aJewish family(both Parents were Jewish).In1900, he9raduated froM the Swiss Federal Instituteof Technolo9y in Zurich and becamea Swiss citizen. In1905,Einstein received a doctorate in physics from the University of Zurich, and proPosed the Photon hyPothesis and successfully explained the Photoelectric effect (for which he won the1921 Nobel Prize in Physics).In 1933,he moved to the United States and worked at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. In1940,he became a citizenof the United States while retaining Swiss citizenship.On April 18,1955,Einstein died in Princeton, New Jersey, at the age of 76. He read a lot of books. When he had new ideas to share, he wrote about them and got his papers published. In this way other scientists could learn about his ideas.
