After reading Tess

After reading Thomas Hardy's "Tess", I was deeply shocked by
the fate of this country woman. Tess, a pure and tough country girl, her
life seems to be a magnificent picture, full of tragedy. Tess was born
beautiful, with the innocence and kindness of a country girl. However,
her beauty is like a double-edged sword that brings her endless pain. By
chance, she was seduced by Jarek and lost her virginity, which became
the first turning point in her life. Since then, she seems to have been
pushed by fate into a bottomless abyss, unable to extricate herself.
Although Tess suffered a great shock, she did not give up hope for life.
She faced the reality firmly and tried to find her own happiness. In the
process, she meets her true love, Claire. The two fall in love, but
Tess's past is a time bomb that could destroy their love at any moment.
That night in the moonlight, Tess finally summoned the courage to
confess her past to Clare. Her voice was trembling and firm, and every
word seemed to come from the depths of her heart. Claire, however, could
not accept the truth. He was angry, disappointed, and finally left. I
was deeply saddened by this scene, and deeply sorry for Tess's
misfortune. It was as if Tess's fate had been cursed. She longed for
love, but fate played tricks on her time and again. She tries hard to
escape the shadow of her past, but reality pulls her back again and
again. She tried to end it with death, but in the end chose to stay
strong. This kind of perseverance is deeply admirable. Through Tess's
experience, Hardy deeply exposed the hypocrisy and cruelty of laws,
religions and ethics in capitalist society. The reason why Tess suffered
such a miserable fate was largely because she lived in an unfair social
environment. What happened to her is not only a personal tragedy, but a
tragedy for the whole society. After reading Tess, I was deeply moved by
Tess's fate. She made me see the complexity of human nature and the
cruelty of society, and also made me cherish the happiness that I have
in front of me. I hope that the world can give everyone more care and
tolerance, so that everyone can face the challenges of life bravely like Tess.
