The main story of the work is that Dorian Gray fell in love with his beauty when he saw his face in the portrait. He made a wish that he would grow older every day and stau young. Nothing could harm his beauty, nothing could hurt or change it-not love, not even time. Thus, he cuts off the connection between his face and his heart, his appearance and the inner word. His face had not changed, always young and beautiful. The three characters, Dorian, Hllward and Henry, are closely linked together, like a glue, through their complementary and dependent personalities. This is a novel with a lotq connection, and its ideas need to be fully explored.
