Is life always smooth sailing? Some choose to quietly and
obediently live out their original lives, while others are dissatisfied
with the present and hope to make different changes on their own.
Breaking the established script is an act filled with passion and
courage, as well as a magnificent adventure. Huckleberry Finn is such a
person—enthusiastic, brave, and kind-hearted. In his adventure, we can
see the darkness and injustice of society at that time, as well as the
goodness and evil of human nature. In summary, I have gained a lot from
his adventures. At the beginning of the story, Finn was living a
mundane life, being taken care of by a kind lady who sent him to school,
although he didn't enjoy going at that time. Then, his father came to
find him, and his arrival sparked the idea of leaving in Finn's mind.
His father was an idle hooligan who only cared about money and drinking,
and even didn't want Finn to go to school, hoping to get government
subsidies through Finn. At this point, Finn began to gradually realize
the benefits of going to school and appreciate how good the people who
had taken care of him before were. Finn's father used force to keep Finn
by his side, but how could our young protagonist be willing to be
treated like a prisoner in disguise? He plotted to leave, carefully
planning his escape. As the saying goes, where there is a will, there is
a way. He successfully escaped from the cabin that had imprisoned him.
However, he didn't intend to return to his previous place; instead, he
decided to embark on an adventure to a different land. As he
officially embarked on his adventure, he encountered a black slave named
Jim. After their meeting, they embarked on a perilous escape together.
They both dodged those who might track them down and lived a simplistic
and hastily arranged life for some time, making careful preparations for
everything out of fear of being discovered. During this process, even I,
as a reader beyond the book, could feel the anxious emotions of hiding
and being afraid of being found. Fortunately, they successfully left
that place and continued to flee forward. They arrived at a
small town, where Finn falsified his identity and disguised himself as a
little girl. The woman fed him and inquired seriously about everything
concerning him. It seemed that she had seen through his disguise, but
fortunately, she was a very kind person who hoped to provide help to
Finn. During her inquiry, I couldn't help but worry about Finn as if I
were in his shoes. The author's writing is so superb, with vivid
psychological, action, expression, and language descriptions, making
readers feel as if they were actually there, experiencing the situation
firsthand. Another impressive scene is when they arrived at a
place where the household was extremely cautious. The doors were tightly
closed, and they spoke to the occupants through the door. Then, they
slowly opened the door just enough for one person to pass through, while
holding guns in their hands. Only after they entered the house and were
confirmed safe did they put away their guns. As soon as they reached the
doorway, they opened the door just a crack, and immediately shut it
behind them once they were inside, while constantly observing the
surroundings. Their cautious and meticulous behavior made me feel tense
as well. Of course, the story of Jim, a member of the
adventuring group, is also unfolding slowly. He fled from his master,
who intended to sell him. He didn't want to lose his freedom and be
bought and sold like an animal. Jim was a black man, and life in that
country with strong racial discrimination was not good at all, as one
can imagine. Freedom was Jim's pursuit, but wasn't it also a luxury?
Fate seems to have a fondness for playing tricks on people. Jim was
captured, and our spirited and united Finn chose to rescue him. Finn was
not alone in this rescue mission; he did it together with another boy.
This boy came from a good family and was willing to help the poor Jim.
During this process, it was mostly the boy who came up with many plans.
Their rescue mission was long and tiring. The boy was rescuing based on
his cognitive understanding, and at first, I thought they were wasting
their time and it was unnecessary. But later, I found that their actions
did have certain reasons and benefits, creating a misconception among
those involved. The two of them used items from their home and even the
forest to prepare everything they thought they needed. During this time,
their actions were almost discovered, but fortunately, they were
cautious and clever, making everyone think it was the mice who did it.
Later, Jim escaped. Finn and the other boy kept helping him throughout
the process. However, during his escape, Jim couldn't bear to leave the
injured person behind and was caught, sent back, and imprisoned again.
The boy also suffered injuries to a certain degree during this process,
causing the female householder to worry and feel sad. Fortunately,
despite being imprisoned twice, Jim was not abused; they were all kind
to him. Finn also went through a tough time during this process, and he
was deeply touched to see how worried the female householder was and how
much she cared for them. Finally, Finn's true identity was revealed, but
the female protagonist didn't mind and was still willing to take care of
and love him. After spending a long time together and due to her
inherently kind nature, she didn't want to dwell too much on it and only
hoped that the children would be fine. Finn's alcoholic father
made people feel sorry for the poor and vulnerable Finn. Finn and Jim,
two kind and brave individuals, had a very good ending after their
adventures. In fact, there are still many wonderful people and moments
in the world that warm and heal our inner worlds. Society has its
darkness and brightness, and everyone is equal. Skin color should not be
a basis for discrimination. Unity and love are the main themes of the
world. If something in life is holding you back, strive to break free,
embark on brave adventures, and strive for your own bright and splendid life.
