The most prominent feature of Wordsworth's poems is his eulogy of
nature. In his works, nature is by no means just a simple portrayal of
scenery but a living and divine entity. In "I Wandered Lonely as a
Cloud", "I wandered lonely as a cloud / That floats on high
o'er vales and hills, / When all at once I saw a crowd, / A host, of
golden daffodils". The poet compares himself to a floating cloud
and unexpectedly encounters a field of golden daffodils in full bloom.
These daffodils, swaying gracefully in the wind, are as continuous as
the stars twinkling. They not only illuminate the beauty of nature but
also touch the poet's soul. In this encounter with the daffodils, the
poet gains an eternal spiritual...
