Book reviews
The book makes a striking contrast between life on the river and life on the shore. The raft on the Mississippi River is like a small free world. There, Huck and Jim don't have to care about other people's opinions, and they are not bound by those strange rules. They help each other and become true friends. But as soon as they arrive at the towns on the shore, there are nothing but troubles. Some people seem civilized on the surface, dressed neatly and speaking in a refined way, but in fact, they are selfish and hypocritical. There are also people who fight with each other for some inexplicable reasons and don't make any sense at all. This makes me realize that sometimes we can't just look at the surface, and we can't assume that something is right just because everyone is doing it.
