My feeling after reading

Eventually，I finish reading 《The Great Gatsby》wrote by Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald.After reading the novel, I was deeply shocked by Gatsby’s persistence,dream, and his miserable ending,and impressed more about the “Jazz Age”.In American history, maybe“ it was the best of times, it was the worst of times, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way”. Here are a lot of ideas from different angles, I will write down them one by one.

First as to Gatsby, he is actually a man who keep fighting to reach his dream. Although he has a poor family background and was looked down on, he has his own dream and dare to achieve. He dreamed a dream which the poor children should not do, because of this dream, he paid a hard effort. He is brave, dare to think, dare to be. I do not think he is greedy and I think that what he seeks was farther than ordinary people. he is spoony and crazy for who he loves. This kind of crazy is what I don't understand. He is in love with Daisy. In order to bring a aristocrat's life to Daisy, he decided not to go home until he was rich enough. As a result, already not to be able to bear loneliness and waiting, Daisy was married to a millionaire, Tom. Later, he can find another new lover because for his advantage, but he foolishly chose to find Daisy. I don't think he can’t find Daisy, but Daisy, in fact, not worth his paying.

In addition, Gatsby is a lonely inferiority complexed man. He is so lonely that he has no friends, no family, except Daisy. However, for him, no one cares for him, even the funeral, Callaway was the only person to participate. What’s more, why he made up his own background, why he shown his medals and proof the first time to meet the Callaway is because of his extremely low self-esteem. When he heard Tom " We were born different. It’s in our blood and nothing that you do or say or steal or dream up can change that ", he was out of control because the heavy spines to his sore spot. Just as a saying goes, what a person show off is what he lacks of. This is sometimes quite right. In the end, he was a sad man, a victim of the society.

It’s turn to Daisy, a woman with weak will. First of all, she did not wait for Gatsby and marry someone else, which can be forgiven because loneliness is difficult for a woman to bear. But then she really should not let Gatsby disappointed again. I think she should stay away from Gatsby and do not give him hope anymore or keep courageous and firmly with Gatsby. But she, when enjoying what Gatsby paid out for her, was timid to let Gatsby bear all the pain lonely. Perhaps, Gatsby brought her too much pressure, but she is still weak in nature. At the same time, Daisy is also a sad woman. She had not heard from the man who she waited for until the eve of her marriage, resulting that she married to one she was not love. Her husband married and derailed, she can only stand. Wanting to elope with Gatsby, but she did not have enough courage to confess to her husband. The man who loves her dies for her, and she cannot see him at last.

Finally, in my opinion, firstly, marriage must have a foundation of love, if there is no feeling, do not blindly enter marriage. Secondly, no matter man or woman, when in marriage, must try to maintain their own family and not to chase after loose women. Furthermore, as for affair, I believe that any mature, smart people are not going to touch this Pandora's box, because it contained nothing but trouble, endless trouble.
