Tess of the d'Urbervilles is a heartbreaking story. Tess is a kind and
innocent country girl, but her life is destroyed by unfair social rules
and the cruel actions of two men. What makes me sad is that Tess is
never truly free. Society judges her harshly for things that are not her
fault. She works hard, loves deeply, and tries to protect her family,
but she is always punished. The book shows how unfair the world was to
women and poor people in that time. Even though it's a tragedy, Tess
remains a strong character. Her struggle makes you think about justice,
purity, and the power of love. This story stays with you long after you
finish reading it.
