Book Review: Franken
李汶睿
Written by Mary Shelley, Frankenstein is a classic Gothic and sci-fi
novel full of deep thoughts. Victor Frankenstein, a talented scientist,
creates a living creature out of obsession. Terrified by its ugly look,
he abandons his creation. The lonely monster craves love and acceptance
but is always rejected by humans. Gradually, it turns to hatred and
revenge, leading to a chain of tragedies that destroy both the creator
and the creature. The book warns us that blind pursuit of scientific
breakthroughs without moral boundaries will bring disaster. It also
reveals how loneliness and prejudice can ruin lives. Even today, this
timeless story still inspires readers to reflect on humanity,
responsibility and technology.
