The Old Man and the Sea Book Review The Old Man and the Sea is a classic novel written by Ernest Hemingway. The story focuses on an old fisherman called Santiago. For eighty-four days, he catches nothing, but he never loses hope. On the eighty-fifth day, he finally hooks a huge marlin and fights bravely with it for three days. Although the old man finally loses the fish to sharks, he wins great respect. As the famous sentence goes, “A man can be destroyed but not defeated.” This book teaches me that true courage lies in perseverance and dignity. No matter what difficulties we face, we should never give up easily. It is definitely a meaningful book worth reading.
