The Great Gatsby

I would like to introduce the content of this novel first. A chance, poor clerk Nick broke into the millionaire Gatsby's secret world, surprised to discover, his heart only to tie him down was actually on riparian lamp that small green light, lived beloved Daisy. In the end, the goddess of Gatsby is just a material girl. This is destined to be a tragic story. Nick witnessed the false sense of humanity, and then he had a tragic mood, away from the noisy, cold and empty, false metropolis, returned home.

The film's name is called "the great Gatsby", I think, that why the author thought Gatsby was great? I want to combine the background of the times. At that time, the United States especially in polite society, the concept of class and racial discrimination is very serious, but a booming economy, the rapid development of industrial let generations cherished the dream of grassroots youth began to break through the social hierarchy. It represents anyone as long as he is willing to work hard, no matter where you are from, regardless of when you are born, as long as you have the courage, willing to struggle, you will be able to realize your dreams, and Gatsby is such young people, from this point I think Gatsby is great.

My favorite segment is that Nick was in the woods of the Gatsby's house and saw Gatsby. When Gatsby know that Nick was willing to help him make an appointment with Daisy just for friends favor without any kind of benefit he really surprised. And Gatsby believe that it is worth to make friend with Nick, and Nick had become an only friend of Gatsby’s in the film. In such a society, to find a true friend is really not easy.

The end of the film is dramatic, Gatsby is still a youth with dream, even if Daisy killed people, he did not think for himself to clarify the facts, but wanted to protect his goddess, even before dying out of the pool of that a moment, his heart was still looking forward to Daisy's phone and still believe that Daisy will return to his side. But counterproductive, after Gatsby's death, only journalists who wanted to dig for the news rushed to the funeral, those who have flocked to Gatsby's Party didn't come to see Gatsby, only Nick was waiting in the funeral scene who is an only friend of Gatsby’s when he alive.

Gatsby’s life is a tragedy, the original intention of the dream that he wants to change the fate is good, but the point he build up is wrong, the road he chose to chase success and love is wrong, he is eager to get recognized by the society and those so-called surface successful, such a path destined to be a tragedy.
