Alice, a smart and curious little girl walks into the world of a book which was read by her sister by following a rabbit who not only has the ability to talk but also has a watch. In that wonderland, she meets quantities of incredible things, such as pills that can make people become bigger or turn smaller, animals that can talk and think, pokers that can move and fight. With the help of her bravery and cleverness, Alice was eventually able to overcome all the difficulties and improve herself, which enlighten both her heart and the hearts of the citizens living in wonderland. However, at the end of this story, Alice finds that it is just a dream instead of an real  adventure.

Although the story and the characters of this book are a little bit old-fashioned, the pure, upstanding and courageous Alice still impressed me a lot. Entering an entirely strange world, hardly does she show any fear or weakness. On the contrary, she is able to say hello to every stranger she meets, doubt the authority of the evil queen and appreciate everything beautiful. What’s more, these qualities are exactly what a child should have and what we are supposed to  encourage our children to cultivate.

On the other hand, it seems that everything on the wonderland is so ridiculous that it is of huge challenge for us to understand that world clearly. Nevertheless, it is the ridiculousness that makes the wonderland a pure place. For example, although the little tricks of Alice are easy to penetrate, the people are still unable to spot it, which is similar to what we have been through in childhood.

To sum up briefly, not only does Alice's Adventures in Wonderland provides us with a source of fun, but it also encourages us to face the obstacles in our life bravely, exerting a tremendous influence in our personal development.
