The Book Review of The Final P
This book is written by Arthur Conan Doyle, one of the most significant detective novel writer born in Scotland in 1859.Resulting from his wonderful achievement, he is regarded as the originator of detective fiction.
The Final Problem is the last chapter of the "Sherlock Holmes" ’s fourth series "memoirs". It mainly tell us the following story. Holmes invited Watson to stay in Europe continent for a week and told him about Moriarty, who wanted to kill Holmes because Holmes destroyed his criminal plans. One day Watson was cheated to leave Holmes, which was Moriarty’s trick . Ultimately, Holmes fought with Moriarty and dropped in the waterfall together with Moriarty, leaving a letter to Watson to tell him that he knew about this trick and wanted to bring to an end between Moriarty and him.
Sherlock Holmes and Moriarty, regarded as the biggest criminal in Europe, carried out a battle between life and death. In the Lessing Bach falls, Holmes had expected this is a hoax, but he still let his friend get away from this disaster. He finally perish together with Professor Moriarty. Although Holmes survived in Conan Doyle's later novel, but his dauntless spirit of daring to die for justice and society makes a deep expression in my heart .So Respectable and great is Holmes that he would like to sacrifice his life into his career and responsibility.
The book of thrilling scenes, vivid stories, ups and downs of the scene, the suspense mystery attracted me. Especially the last story in the book and Holmes finally case said "Sherlock Holmes and the most dangerous criminals Moriarty (story characters) during a struggle together to fall as liexia, in living Sherlock Holmes to peanuts left pull a letter: I thought I can for the society to get rid of because of him (Moriarty) and came the scourge, happy." In this case, I feel that Formo was willing to sacrifice his own life for the criminals, although we can not be like him, but we can learn from his spirit. For example, he is rich in scientific knowledge, strict logical reasoning, detailed investigation and study. I think reading the book "the adventures of Sherlock Holmes", is conducive to our young people develop a focus on observation and careful thinking of the good habits.
From my perspective, Holmes illustrates the significance of a sense of social responsibility. As a detective, in order to chase the truth and brightness and witness the broken of the black power, he care little about his life. For the sake of the social harmony and people’s well-being, he would rather use his life as a price.
Having a career that you are passionate about is a very happy thing. Holmes as a private detective on the case has an unusual passion, he is also immersed in his career. He always helps the police or official detective to get rid of the mystery. He has the authority to review the materials and to put forward the authority, but he never takes credit for them. He believes that playing a special ability in specialized field brings him plentiful fun , which is to give him the highest reward. Nevertheless, now in this society filled with material life, a decrease number of people are able to reach this extent. Most people just consider their job as a way to earn money ,which guarantee them to be able to enjoy their material life. Sometimes we need to stop and think about it, do we really love it? If not, ask you to leave! Because every business is built by the people who love it, the efforts of others should not be trampled, and you are not the happiest of their own.
Most of us lack these precious spirits on Holmes in study as well as life. We should take him as a role model, learning his calm, unselfish, a sense of social responsibility. In our daily life, some mysteries often are hidden in the commonplace. If we learn to observe carefully, we may find some new discoveries. Confronting with trouble, It is advisable for us to be calm, which can remarkably decrease the mistakes aroused by impatience. Sometimes, a small mistake may bring lifetime of regret .
Now Holmes has become synonymous of a detective, but in real life, a lot of people will regard Holmes as a pronoun of clever person. To be frank, Holmes has become a symbol of wisdom, a spiritual pillar of hope.
