I try to analyse Christine’s mind. At the very beginning, Christine must be obsessed to the phantom. She admired him from the angle of a student. Part of her admiration is from the phantom;s mystery and part of it is because of his personal attraction. They have so much in common. They are both child without parents and had suffered a lot of loneliness and pain. The phantom’s rich life experience and genius in music lure Christine’s heart. After all ,she was only an adolescent at first.

But with her growing up, things were changed. She experience more and her horizons was broadened. But the turning point is when Christine unmask the phantom. Even though they fit each other well in singing, the phantom’s skull face frightened her too much.
