In addition, when I finished the book, I was deeply shocked at the intelligent antagonism between two great men. What's more, the image of the private detective has led a deep impression on me. Not only does he possess higher intelligence than average people, but he also has many precious qualities that deserve our respect. There was no doubt that Mr. Sherlock was an omnipotent hero, but I'd like to praise him as a real hero. He dared to confess his plight although most often he was a superior man with high pride. "I was quite convinced that the letter from Meiringen was a hoax, and I allowed you to depart on that errand under the persuasion that some development of this sort would follow." When facing the dilemma, he took his friends into consideration first rather than himself and even if he would be left alone to fight with death. He was willing to show his respect and admiration to his opponents though they held different belief. In addition, what left a deep impression on me was that he said in the interests of the public, he would cheerfully accept the death if he could succeed to defeat Mr. Moriarty. To some extent, this was of heroism. However, he did take action to realize it. So all these characteristics have improved his personal charisma, leading him to be a more real and attractive person as if he had lived in our real world.
