胡若曦Alienation in art can be embodied in works that are acknowledged by the minority, but not accepted by the mainstream. Heavy metal music works serve as a good example. Take another example, playground music is played by senior citizens for thousands of times and owns a mass of fans, but for people who are not interested in this genre, it can't be regarded as music.

胡博元同学In my opinion, some modern art works were created by artists inspired by really simple ideas. These inspirations might be completely random, or even absurdly straight forward. But commentators usually tend to over analyze these works, especially the ones from famous masters, trying to give the work significant meaning. In this way, the artist’s real intension is alienated from us, by the commentators’ own interpret or belief

陈圣鹏The artwork is collected because its artistic value is appreciated and the author’s aesthetic sensations behind are empathized with, the economic collectability of it as well as the social status that it brings about are just accompanying bonuses. However, nowadays, more and more people are buying works of art simply because there is a big appreciation space for the arts. In this sense, these people are alienated from the genuine purpose of collecting arts.
