His thoughts and ideas formed the basis of Confucianism, one of the most influential philosophical and ethical systems in Chinese history. Confucius emphasized personal and governmental morality, correctness of social relationships, justice and sincerity. His followers competence, proper conduct,loyalty,truthfulness, honesty, and humility. Confucius's teachings have had a profound impact on Chinese culture and continue to influence people around the world today. The Temple of Heaven represents the "heaven"in the Chinese concept of the Mandate of Heaven, which was a belief that the emperor was mandated by heaven to rule. The temple was used by the emperor and his court for annual ceremonies of sacrifice and prayer for good harvests. It is also a symbol of the imperial power and authority of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. They were discovered in 1974 by farmers in Lintong District, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China. The army was commissioned by Emperor Qin Shi Huang in 246-208 BC to protect him in the afterlife. It is now considered one of the greatest archaeological sites in the world and attracts millions of visitors each year.
