Spirit of Chinese people+决赛

First of all, Mr Koo has made an interesting conclusion in his book. That is why Chinese people have no systematic and general religious cult? Maybe it is because we all have Confucianism.Confucianism, the sameas western religions, which has set up a set of moral models for the society and inheritance on in the form of rites.

Just as western religions advise people to be a good person, Confucianism advocates moral cultivation, and it just like many rituals in western religions, Confucianism stresses a lot of forms. However, Confucianism did not go up to the belief and cult of the founder (as Lao gu believed), while these who believe in Christianity are bound to worship Jesus, and those who believe in Islam are bound to worship Mohammed. So Confucianism is ultimately an idea, not a religion, but a substitute for a religion.

In Spirit of Chinese people, Mr Koo argues that westerners  worshipped religion firstly, but that this led to corruption among religious clerics, then to the rule of law, tyranny by the majority and militarism, and eventually to world war I. Therefore, gu hongming believes that exporting Confucian culture can better promote social peace.

Because religion gives theocracy to the clergy, but it doesn't impose secular constraints on the clergy, which is unreliable; A belief in the rule of law, but based on the subordination of the minority to the majority, is vulnerable to the mob problem that Mr Koo describes, and to the militarism that opposes it.

So how can Confucianism be relied on? That maybe is honor.According to gu hongming, the fundamental power of Confucianism to unite China is actually the sense of honor, a kind of power that restrains people's behavior from inside to outside. The sense of honor advocated by Confucianism is based on the heart of the people, rather than relying on external forces. Therefore, it stresses the self-restraint of everyone out of the sense of honor, rather than the restraint of clergy and military police. Therefore, the self-restraint from inside to outside, without the help of external forces, then nature can avoid the flood of external forces, and it is the flood of external constraints that Mr. Gu thinks finally triggered the first world war.

ku hung-ming old man think that Confucianism is a "good citizen religion"that teach people how to rely on the inner strength to become a good citizenreligion, and emphasizing mediate disputes, each other heart peaceful coexistence of religion.

By inside and outside the constraints of the Chinese society is very easy to control, we don't need intervention can sweep the snow in front of the external force, and everyone "ke-ji-fu-li, nature will be easier to get along with people, even more" tacit understanding ". Therefore, the profoundness of Chinese language is also related to this. Since we believe that everyone can restrain themselves, we can try to be implicit and euphemistic in expression. This is what Lao gu said. Chinese is very close to the language of children.

So, the biggest lesson I learned from this book was not to be part of a mob. If you can also affect a few people around do not do the mob, that is nothing.
