More and more people feel the importance of media "reading".
I admit that Gu Hongming is an excellent Chinese linguist. He is proficient in nine languages. His knowledge of Confucian culture has almost reached its peak. He has a good knowledge of Chinese and Western culture and has a thorough analysis of Chinese culture. He has a strong literary foundation and sharp style, criticizes the so-called "Sinologists" and has a warm-blooded pursuit of the Chinese nation.
However, it is undeniable that he is inculcating a kind of thought, and his works have their own emotional color. He advocated the good people's religious consciousness of the Chinese people. He respected imperial power and advocated the absolute loyalty and responsibility consciousness of the civilians to the rulers. He defended the autocratic dictatorship. He made the best interpretation of concubines, ancestors worship and the four virtues of ancient women. He believed that the fear of the good people brought about war. He reasonably defended the rulers, diplomats and soldiers. He believed that the world's national capital was the capital of China. We should learn from the docile and good people's religious consciousness of the real Chinese. He believes that the Loyalty Charter will bring peace to the world.
I don't agree with these ideas. I also love Chinese ancient culture. I also respect the profound and long-standing spirit of the Chinese nation. But in modern society, progress is a historical trend. Blind loyalty to the ruler will only make the people more ignorant, more rigid and easy to lose themselves.
No matter what book you read, you should not be influenced by anyone's views. You should have your own independent thinking and dare to read dialectically and critically.
