The Chinese people are unique, and the Chinese spirit is unique. But. In that era, the Chinese traditional spirit was despised by foreigners. The author wrote this article to prove the merits of the traditional Chinese spirit. In this article, I did read about some of the advantages of the traditional Chinese spirit.
As the author said, the traditional Chinese people possess the qualities of meekness and kindness.But to Europeans, the traditional Chinese spirit is cowardly.And they see the Chinese in this way, apparently because they don't understand the nature of the Chinese people.Europeans think that human nature is evil while Chinese think that human nature is good. Europeans view others maliciously, whereas Chinese people do the opposite.Therefore, the Chinese people rely on moral strength, which is a spiritual force to restrain themselves, so they seem very docile and easy to bully.This may be the reason why Europeans look down upon traditional Chinese people.
Although the Chinese have not achieved much in scientific research, their language, culture and ethics are outstanding.The spirit of the Chinese people makes the ancient Chinese nation full of vitality.In this paper. The author points out that part of the difference between Chinese and European civilizations lies in the sources of art and religion. European art is full of war smoke, as if artistic creation is driven by interests. Their religion is also designed to maintain fake stability, as if full of corruption.Chinese art is extraordinary, and religion is not the ruler of ideology.People create freely and believe freely. All these reflect the superiority of Chinese spirit.Confucianism in China teaches people to discipline themselves and instills such ideas into people from an early age. Christianity in Europe relies more on influence, but apparently different people still have different moral concepts. Therefore, Chinese customs and ethics have well regulated the social order.
Europeans criticize the Chinese for their unreasonable morality and the servility of the peasants. But they are obviously too one-sided.
The author also tells us about the differences between eastern and Western outlooks on life. Europeans believe that the purpose of life is to exercise, while Chinese believe that the purpose of life is to enjoy life.

The maintenance of Eastern society lies in morality, while that of Western society lies in money.So there are obvious disadvantages in Western society.
