  1.Jo 's purpose of visiting Laurie is only trying to be neighborly. 2.Because Jo thinks Laurie needs cheering up a bit .Laurie seems a little lonely, and young folks would do him good perhaps. And for March 's family they don't forget the splendid Christmas present Mr.Laurence sent them.
